Implications of the financial crisis and the recession

C of E SynodThe report, prepared by The Revd Dr Malcolm Brown, Director of Mission and Public Affairs on the Chruch of England, for the February Synod looks at the emergence of the credit crisis, the rapid decline into recession and notes some of the key policy responses of both the government and opposition. It explores some of the policy issues with which governments are wrestling. While offerering some Christian insights it rightly emphasising that there can never be a single Christian view on economic or regulatory policy.

The report goes on to consider how the Church can be part of the debate about the future shape of our society and how we can make a difference on the ground, practically.
